The Heart Behind Fathering with the Father
At Fathering with the Father (FwtF) it is our deep conviction that every child needs a father to call him or her out of the turmoil and uncertainty of youth and into the destiny that he or she was created for, by God. For that reason FwtF was founded for the purpose of inspiring a generation of men to awaken to the great privilege every man was invited to the day he became a father; to partner with his Heavenly Father to lead his children into a full and meaningful life, and to become the kind of exceptional father that he was made to be, and that his children truly need.
The FwtF course is a six-week online curriculum that incorporates a prerecorded weekly teaching video along with brief prerecorded daily training videos that lead men into the practice of turning to their Heavenly Father to receive from Him the personal insight, guidance and encouragement that they need in order to lead their children into the lives that they were born for. In addition we hold a weekly 1 hour live seminar via Zoom in which all the current course participants can express the challenges they are facing and questions that are arising as they progress through the program.
By God’s grace, this ministry is impacting a generation of men and their families that desperately need to know that the Lord Jesus Christ knows them, loves them, and has a wonderful and unique purpose for their lives.
About FwtF Founder Tyler Slade
Over the course of his life, Pastor Tyler Slade has managed to amass a collection of seven inestimably valuable treasures, the likes of which are so uniquely and wondrously precious, that even if he were to spend the rest of his days searching out their intricacies he could never grow tired of enjoying them.
Can you guess what they are? The picture accompanying this bio will give you a clue as to what the first six are. The last, and most preeminent, is His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Together they comprise the central passion of his life and the clearest evidence of his qualification for assisting other men in their pursuit of a healthy and godly family.
Even before having kids of his own, Tyler always had a deep affection and concern for young people. And it was during his years of theological study at Oxford University that he discerned a specific calling to focus his full-time ministry efforts on the youth.
After being ordained and accepting a position as the director of a summer camp and year-round youth retreat ministry at a Christian conference center in upstate NY, Tyler discovered that he had a unique gifting and passion for helping young people come to know and love the Lord in a life transforming way.
But it wasn’t until he became a father himself that he realized that what the next generation needs more than anything else to thrive in life is not something that an ordained minister or even a church has to offer: it is the strength and guidance of a loving and fully committed father.
After coming to that revelation, Ps Tyler began prayerfully working on a ministry that would one day reach a multitude of men with that message; that God’s “Plan A” for every child’s life is that their father would embrace his God given calling to become the man that partners with the Lord to raise their children up to become everything that God created them to be.
Today, his joy is to share this FwtF ministry with other men in the hope that by God’s grace they will come to enjoy, as he has, the incredible privilege and reward of being the best father they can be for their children.
